Man Who Threatened Dumfries Woman At Knifepoint Not Yet Found: Police

Police are still seeking an Alexandria man who held a woman at knifepoint in a Dumfries home, officials said.

On July 25 just before 10 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Tulip Tree Place, where they found a 31-year-old woman who had just been threatened at knifepoint, according to Prince William County Police.

During a fight between the victim and 34-year-old Tyree Gilchrist, Gilchrist beat the victim and held a knife at her throat while he threatened her, officials said. 

Police said the victim sought treatment at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. 

Law enforcement officials are still searching for Gilchrist, who was described as a black male, 6’5”, 240lbs with black hair and brown eyes, authorities said.

Police said he is wanted for malicious wounding, abduction, and domestic assault and battery.
